Comptroller Frank Onyeka Breaks New Record By Generating ₦16.4bn Revenue In A Single-Day Through B’odogwu Platform
The Tincan Island Port Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, under the leadership of Comptroller Frank Onyeka has broken new record in revenue generation , resulting to a total collection of ₦16.41 billion in a single day, through the deployment of its Unified Customs Management System (UCMS), popularly known as B’odogwu.
The record figure was announced on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, by the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Frank Onyeka, who described the significant achievements as a testament to the efficiency, transparency, and responsiveness of the digital platform.
A statement issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Customs, Oscar Ivara, said Comptroller Onyeka has significantly streamlined B’odogwu cargo clearance by integrating key elements of port and customs operations under one interface.
Oscar Ivara is quoted as explaining that: “The system has drastically improved access for licensed customs agents and stakeholders for payment to platforms, allowing them to complete clearance processes in real time without delays or bottlenecks”.
He further stated that B’odogwu enhances processing speed, ensures accurate cargo valuation, and improves monitoring of port activities, creating a more predictable, and efficient environment for port users.
Comptroller Frank Onyeka, who noted that the record-breaking revenue figure reflects more than financial success, also described it as evidence of the system’s role in modernising operations at Tin Can Island Port.
He attributed the achievement to strong collaboration with terminal operators, shipping companies, licensed agents, and regulatory agencies.
Besides, he added that this coordinated approach ensures that cargo clearance processes remain seamless, compliant, and business-friendly.
The Tincan Island Port Customs Boss reaffirmed the command’s commitment to trade facilitation, securing revenue for national development, and supporting port users with timely and cost-effective clearance processes.
