Comptroller Gambo Aliyu Pays Courtesy Visits To Sister Agencies
In line with the efforts to tackle crime, smuggling, and other threats to national security, the Customs Area Controller of Oyo/Osun Area Command, Comptroller Gambo Iyere Aliyu, paid courtesy visits to sister agencies, including the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
During the visit to the Nigeria Correctional Service on Tuesday, 30th September 2025, Comptroller Aliyu said the Service is a strategic partner in Nigeria’s security architecture, charged with reintegrating offenders into society.
Aside from this, he said the Nigeria Correctional Service has made invaluable contributions to peace, stability, and socio-economic growth in Nigeria.
Besides, during the visit to the Nigeria Immigration Service, Comptroller Gambo Aliyu commended the agency’s role in safeguarding the nation’s borders.
He commended their unwavering professionalism and dedication in regulating migration, which he said is essential to national security, migration management, and socio-economic stability.
During the visit, Comptroller Aliyu reassured that the Nigeria Immigration Service remains a vital partner in curbing trans-border crimes and protecting the nation against illegal activities which affect the growth and development of Nigeria.
In his address to the senior officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Comptroller Gambo Aliyu acknowledged the agency as a reliable partner in safeguarding critical infrastructure, protecting lives and property, and maintaining internal security.
He commended the NSCDC’s contributions in combating smuggling, vandalism, and other cross-border crimes, adding that their efforts have consistently complemented those of the Nigeria Customs Service.
A statement signed and released by the command’s public relations officer, Assistant Superintendent of Customs1, Abdulmalik Abiodun, on 1 October 2025, said the visit was aimed at deepening the existing synergy for effective collaboration in the future.
He disclosed that stronger partnerships among security institutions remain a vital step toward tackling common challenges and safeguarding Nigeria’s sovereignty.
At the end of the visit, Comptroller Aliyu, reaffirmed that the Oyo/Osun Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service remains fully committed to working hand in hand with all sister agencies to enhance national security, promote socio-economic development, and protect Nigeria’s territorial integrity.
