The Leadership Of Comptroller Frank Onyeka Remains Committed To Reposition Tincan Customs Command

The Customs Area Controller of Tincan Island Customs Command, Comptroller Frank Onyeka, has been credited as one of the few controllers Nigeria Customs Service ever had by his outstanding performance in the area of revenue generation, trade facilitation and anti-smuggling operations
He has since assumption in office at Tin Can Island Port Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, put adequate measures in place to block revenue leakages which resulted in the revenue generation of N154.3 billion in October 2025, representing the second-highest monthly collection in the command’s history.
A statement made available by the Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent of Customs Oscar Ivara, attributed the achievements recorded so far to the payment of accurate duty, improved standard of discipline and the level of compliance to the rules and regulations of trade facilitation.
Apart from this, he said the impressive performance of the command reflects strategic reforms, and the continuous optimisation of the Unified Customs Management System, popularly known as the B’Odogwu platform, aimed at blocking revenue leakages, strengthen cargo clearance processes.
The command within the period under review made significant improvements in revenue generation which resulted in the generation of N159 billion in the month of August 2025.
In his comment, Comptroller Onyeka attributed the remarkable achievements to the seamless deployment of the B’Odogwu system, which significantly improved trade facilitation and enhanced revenue performance.
He commended the dedication of officers and the cooperation of port stakeholders, adding that the achievements were a product of collective commitment.
Similarly, Comptroller Frank Onyeka further commended the support of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, whose policy thrust is centred on collaboration, consolidation and innovation, which has been a driving force guiding the activities of the command throughout the year.
Besides, Comptroller Frank Onyeka, said despite the current financial situation affecting businesses and citizens alike, the significant success and remarkable achievements recorded in revenue generation and collection is attributed to the command’s enhanced use of technology, especially the B’Odogwu platform has allowed the command to streamline their processes and increased transparency.
According to the report, this has also led to the improved compliance from the command’s stakeholders.
Comptroller Frank Onyeka, who said he remains committed to surpassing the command’s revenue target, strengthening trade facilitation, and compliance, also stated that the revenue generated reflects the resilience, and dedication of the command officers in ensuring strict compliance with customs laws and regulations, while facilitating legitimate trade.
