Lagos Free Trade Zone Command Collects N234bn In 8 Months

The Lagos Free Trade Zone Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, under the leadership of Comptroller Olanrewaju Abdulwahab Olumoh, has collected a total sum of N234, 000, 000, 000 between January and August 2024 as against N74, 000, 000, 000 collected in the year 2023 with 100 percent increase in revenue collection.

He noted that the turn around time for cargoes is impressive, as the 13 free trade zones in the command is performing extremely well.

Comptroller Olomu, expressed his profound gratitude to the Comptroller-General of Custom’s policy thrust of innovation, collaboration and consolidation, and for commissioning of sick bay for officers and men of the command.

He said very soon the command will be among one of the top five revenue generating commands in Nigeria.

He attributed the impressive performance of the command to open door policy, stakeholders engagement, compliance investors, hard work of intelligence unit, post clearance audit and fast track policy.

Comptroller Olumoh commended the media for their crucial role in reporting the activities of the command.

He said the problem of accomodation will soon be addressed by the headquaters to boost the morale of officers and men of the command, while the issue of inadequate staff number is being addressed at the moment.
