The Maritime Journalists Association of Nigeria (MAJAN), has concluded plans to hold a roundtable talk-show with Nigerian Port Consultative Council (NPCC).

The reputable personality selected for this important programme is the Chairman of NPCC, Mr Bolaji Sunmola

The programme, which is a well thought-out initiative by MAJAN is expected to add value to the maritime industry, as well as focus attention on activities in the port industry and measures that should be put in place to rejuvenate the sector for greater productivity.

The programme is expected to take place on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at MAJAN World Press Center, Apapa, Lagos.

The event will be the best of its kind in maritime industry, as members of MAJAN planning committee have worked tirelessly to put everything in place for successful hosting of the event.

According to a press statement made available, the talk-show will be divided into three segments to allow for robust engagement with Sunmola, the guest, who is well grounded in port operations. The first segment is expected to cover an overview of the sector, followed by the activities in the port industry over the years and efforts by the current government to open new windows of investments for tangible growth in short and long term bases.

It is believed that the programme will create a veritable platform for interaction between the guest and other participants who are coming to grace the occasion. It will also pave the way for information sharing on the topic of discussion.

The National President of MAJAN, Comrade Jerry Aguigbo, who addressed members of the planning committee recently, also expressed satisfaction over the choice of the Guest Speaker, describing NPCC Chairman as competent, experienced and highly knowledgeable in port operations.

Comrade Jerry Aguigbo, further gave assurance that the programme will provide ample opportunity for MAJAN members to learn new things and upscale their competencies in reporting activities in the port industry.
