MMIA Customs Command Records ₦71.6bn In 2024

In line with the policy thrust of the comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, aimed at generating more revenue, suppress smuggling activities and improve trade facilitation based on policy thrust of consolidation, collaboration and Innovation, the Nigeria Customs Service, Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Command has made significant impact and recorded N71,633,687,108.84 as revenue in 2024.
The report said this revenue figure surpasses the 2024 revenue target of the command by 20 percent, representing the highest revenue collection in its history.
This report was made available to the media in a press statement issued and signed by the Public Relations Officer of the command, Deputy Superintendent of Customs, Usman Abdul.
In his presentation, the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Effiong Harrison, expressed great pleasure over the command’s achievement.
Comptroller Harrison is quoted as stating that: “The success of this command is a result of the dedication, commitment and adherence to high operational standards by officers and men of the command”.
The Customs Area Controller further disclosed that the revenue generation has witnessed a significant boost in July 2024, with its highest-ever monthly revenue of N12,084,020,992.46.
He said when compared the revenue figure to the previous year, the revenue figure of the command has increased by N41,130,179,709.75, representing a 135 percent growth.
Comptroller Harrison however, commended his officers and men for their relentless efforts and urged them to maintain high standards in order to generate more revenue in 2025.
Beside this, Comptroller Harrison, also appreciated critical stakeholders and other government agencies, while, acknowledging them as invaluable partners in the command’s success in 2024.
At the end, Comptroller Harrison, expressed optimism that the command will achieve greater milestones in fulfilling its core mandates in 2025.
