Comptroller Bisi Alade Makes Significant Achievements In Revenue Generation

The emergence of Comptroller Bisi Alade, may not be too far from an intension to completely tackling revenue leakages in Ogun 11 Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service. And he seems determined not to put any one in doubt.
The command under his leadership and within the period under review has made significant improvement in revenue generation drive, which resulted to revenue generation of N15, 191, 227, 503. 82 Kobo, in the first quarter of 2025.
Beyond that, he said this revenue figure represents about a 40 percent increase, compared to N9,165, 717,162.99 kobo recorded in the corresponding period of 2024.
He pointed out that this achievements is a testament to the diligence commitment, professionalism of their officers and men who have worked tirelessly to ensure that they exceed their revenue targets.
Comptroller Bisi Alade disclosed this recently during the press briefing on the activities of the Ogun 11 Area Command for the first quarter of 2025, at Abeokuta, Ogun state.
He further said that this achievements is indicative of their unwavering commitment to the economic growth and development of our nation.
Comptroller Bisi Alade disclosed that the breakdown of the revenue collected shows a progressive increase over the four months, between January and April in the first quarter of 2025, with N8, 333, 039, 874. 82 kobo collection from excise, N7, 164, 777, 965.00 Kobo from free trade zone, N1, 495, 658, 869.00kobo from bonded terminal (import), amounting to N15, 191, 227, 503.00 Kobo in total.
The breakdown of the monthly revenue figure included N4, 000, 335, 353.53 Kobo collected in the month of January, N3, 486, 267, 681.44 Kobo collected in February, N3, 444, 179, 992.46 Kobo collected in the month of March, N4, 260, 444, 476.39 Kobo collected in April, amounting to N15, 191, 227, 503.82 Kobo in total.
Beyond the N15, 191, 227, 503.82 Kobo which the command generated in the period under review, Comptroller Bisi Alade further said the command has discovered another unauthorized factory that was operating illegally, but the command brought it under control.
He attributed the success of the command to several strategic initiatives implemented by the Customs Area Controller in recent months, which included enhancing the command monitoring unit operations, improved intelligence gathering, strengthening stakeholders’ engagement, corporate social responsibility (CSR),
He noted that this strategic initiative aligns perfectly with the policy thrust of the Comptroller- General of Customs (CGC), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR’s principles of Consolidation, Collaboration, and Innovation. He said his visionary leadership and enabling support are crucial in enhancing their capabilities and driving these impressive results.
Furthermore, he said the command reaffirms its commitment and the determination to surpass this performance in the coming months with the improved compliance of the trading community, partners at Free Trade Zones and the bonded terminal within the command’s area of responsivity.

We shall maintain success through synergy with other partners, while discharging our statutory responsibilities of enforcing compliance with government fiscal policy”.
