The Port Harcourt Area 1 command of Nigeria Customs Service, under the exemplary leadership of Comptroller Salamatu Atuluku has made impressive revenue generation and collection into the federation account.
According to the revenue figure made available by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Aanee, the command generated a total revenue of N33.7billion in the month of October 2025, surpassing the annual target with two months left to end the year.
The Customs Area Controller of Port Harcourt Area 1 command, Comptroller Salamatu Atuluku, who announced this during the media press briefing on the performance of the command in her office in Port Harcourt, Rivers state capital, also stated that she was with great pleasure to brief the press on her remarkable achievements recorded at the Port Harcourt Area I Command, particularly in the areas of revenue collection, trade facilitation, and enforcement of government fiscal policies.
Commenting on the command’ revenue performance, she said the command’s performance from January to October 2025, reflecting not revenue figures, but dedication, reform, and collaboration.
In addition, she said through teamwork and innovation, the command has continued to promote legitimate trade, blocked revenue leakages, and contributed significantly to national development.
Comparatively, Comptroller Salamatu Atuluku, said the revenue generated in the month of October 2025 stood at N33.753 billion as against N9.079 billion collected in the corresponding month of October 2024.
Interestingly, she said the amount was the highest revenue collection in the history of the command, and representing an extraordinary increase of 272 percent, a record that stood as a testament to the command’s collective commitment and improved efficiency of its operational processes.
Meanwhile, she pointed out that the command’s impressive revenue from January to October 2025, stood at N247.461billion, compared to N164.080 billion collected within the same period in 2024 which she said translated to a commendable growth of 51 percent, demonstrating the command’s steady and consistent increase in revenue generation.
In short, she disclosed that with the 2025 annual revenue target of N216 billion and monthly average target of N18.07 billion,she is pleased to inform the public that as at October 2025, the command has already surpassed its annual target by over N31billion, with two ember months to go.
However, Comptroller Salamatu Atuluku, said the steady increase in revenue generation is attributed to strategic leadership, renewed operational discipline, and the unwavering dedication of officers and men under her leadership.
Besides, she maintained that one of the innovative tools that has greatly enhanced the command’s revenue performance was the Unified Customs Management System, popularly known as B’ Odogwu, a digital analytics and monitoring platform designed to track, analyze, and optimize revenue collection processes.
Commenting further on B’Odogwu, she said through B’odogwu, her command has been able to identify bottlenecks, improve upon data accuracy, and ensure real-time revenue accountability.
That is not all, she disclosed that this innovation, has greatly supported their drive towards operational transparency and efficiency.
Still, Comptroller Atuluku announced that the command have also strengthened collaboration with stakeholders, including sister government agencies, to ensure that all processes are conducted with mutual respect, accountability, and understanding.
Additionally, she stated that their partnership with stakeholders has continued to yield positive results, in enhancing transparency, encouraging voluntary compliance, and reducing disputes at the port.
Furthermore, Comptroller Salamatu Atuluku commended the officers and men of Port Harcourt Area I command for their integrity, and tireless efforts in delivering on their mandate.
Above all, Comptroller Salamatu Atuluku said despite operational challenges encountered by command, they have demonstrated exceptional commitment to duty and embraced innovation in their daily assignments.
