Comptroller Shuaibu Assumes Duty At FOU Zone ‘A’ While Comptroller Oladeji Moves To Headquarters

Comptroller Mohammed Shuaibu recently assumed duty as the 28th Comptroller of the Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone ‘A’ of the Nigeria Customs Service, Ikeja, Lagos.

Journalists from across Lagos, who trooped to FOU, for the handing over ceremony of the 28th Comptroller of the Federal Operations Unit, Zone ‘A’ were blocked at the gate from witnessing the signing ceremony for reason unknown.

In any case, during the handing over ceremony, Comptroller Mohammed Shuaibu expressed determination to use his wealth of experience to manage the affair of the Federal Operations Unit.

However, Comptroller Shuaibu sought for the support and sustainable cooperation of the officers and men of the Unit, in order to deliver on the mandate of the Service.
He took time out to explain the importance of adhering to the seven Golden Rules of the Service, which is always available to guide the actions and decisions of officers.

He therefore expressed his gratitude to the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, for the opportunity given to him to serve as Customs Area Controller of Federal Operations Unit, Zone ‘A’, Ikeja, Lagos. He strongly believe that that the unit under him will excel in its core mandate.

Comptroller Shuaibu is very principle when it comes to the thing he believes in, and what makes him perhaps different and often misunderstood, was the capacity to stand by those things even if the entire world thought he is wrong.

Before Comptroller Shuaibu deployment as the new Customs Area Controller of Federal Operations Unit Zone ‘A’, he has worked and served in various customs formation in different capacities in the country.

In his speech, during the handing over, the out-going Customs Area Controller of the Unit, Comptroller Kolapo Oladeji, told the in-coming Comptroller to maintain the momentum of the unit by keeping the flag flying.

The out-going controller expressed confidence in his successor’s ability to enhance the efficiency of the Unit.

At the end, Comptroller Oladeji thanked the Comptroller-General of Customs and his management team for the opportunity given to him to serve.

He also appreciated the support of officers and men of the unit during his tenure as the Customs Area Controller.
